Old Oakville has the exclusive appeal of a waterfront community. This historic downtown area of Oakville has excellent shops and charming restaurants.

Life in Old Oakville

What’s interesting about this area is its past. It was the place where the first Oakville settlement started. There is a rich history and community pride that’s felt when visiting the neighbourhood. Families have their choice of great schools to choose from, and can take advantage of some of the many waterfront views in the neighbourhood when relaxing on days off. Bel Air Promenade, Wallace Park, Lakeside Park, First Street Park and Trafalgar Park are excellent outdoor hang out options in the neighbourhood.

This luxury, downtown waterfront area is established and great for shopping. Charming boutiques sprinkle the area along with local galleries, businesses, restaurants and other interesting amenities that can be explored along Lakeshore Road and Kerr Street (Old Oakville’s downtown). Festivals and other events take place throughout the year and are inviting to the entire family. The Waterfront Festival, Downtown Oakville Jazz Fest, and Midnight Madness are some of the exciting happenings here.

This neighbourhood has a lot to offer commuters as it’s close to major roads. Lakeshore Road, the Queen Elizabeth Way, Trafalgar and Cornwall roads as well as Kerr Street are the large thoroughfares in the area. Public transit is also an option, with connections to Bronte’s GO Station.
